The third volume in the series of Collected Works contains a series of individual papers by Milton including one in which Erickson wrote about the Burden of Psychotherapy, a short paper which indirectly addresses one of the fundamental elements of Erickson's ideology. Perhaps the most unique part of this volume is an annotated transcript of one of the sessions in which Erickson was teaching Ernest Rossi the basic skills of going into trance. Ernest has asked to have his “mind opened”. The final two chapters of this book give a unique look at how that teaching was conducted as well as Rossi’s reflections on the process.
